Abs really are made in the kitchen. Meal planning and prepping used to freak me out, so I know what you are thinking. I take the approach to better nutrition in baby steps to help you be successful long term.
My journey started by committing to the infamous 90 day at-home workout program, P90X®. I know one of the many programs my company has will help you get started on your journey, too.
My main goal for you, whether you're visiting my page for one minute or stay on your journey with me for life, is to develop your self love. Self love is so important, especially for former competitive athletes and teachers that care a lot about their jobs.
Mental health is just as important, if not more important, than physical health. It’s the reason I invested in a life coach as well as a therapist in my late 20s. Follow my journey and join my team to get this same support and guidance on your mental health journey as well.
It's hard to start new goals alone, especially workout and nutrition goals. I needed my husband, Cody, as my accountability partner when I first started my journey. If you don't have a spouse or friend to rely on, that's what me and my team are here for.

9 months in vs. 9 months out
Life was a little different one year ago 🤰🏻.The BIGGEST thing I have learned and am still working on is letting go of control after going through labor/birth and having Michael. I thought I had it down when it came to teaching, constantly reminding myself what was and was not in my control, but danggg having your own baby really really challenges you in this area!!.➡️ I had no clue my birth plan would be the total opposite of what I wanted.➡️ I have no control over when Michael cries, when he naps, when he wakes up, when he sleeps, when he will be clingy, when he’s hungry, when he will be teething…the list goes on..Keep working at this mommas. I know you feel my pain in this, too. It’s a blessing and a curse to have a free schedule but to also be on Michael’s schedule 😂 What has helped me is just sticking to routines instead of specific times for things. I don’t worry about what time it is, how long Michael has been napping, etc. I just go with the flow and do what I can when I can..((Picture is a little late but it’s a 9 […]
My little secret
The secret to having this kind of energy after being up from 2-4 AM with Michael teething last night?? ⬇️.I truly believe it’s my daily superfoods that give me all the nutrients I need so I’m not ravenous and craving junk. When I miss just one day, the next day all I want to do is eat eat eat. And I already eat a lot 😂 #breastfeedingprobs . When you are missing nutrients your body needs ((that are in our superfood mixes)), your body craves fat, sugar or salt because you are kind of in survival mode for needing energy fast. Hellooo bag of chips and little Debbie’s in the pantry 🤤 but then comes the never ending cycle of eating poorly because those things actually don’t have the nutrients your body needs! So you become hungrier even sooner than if you were to have eaten some superfoods and a healthy meal..It’s the easiest thing to add to my busy day chasing this guy around ((or trying to put him to bed 😂))..Mommas tell me ⬇️⬇️⬇️ how is your babe currently sleeping?
“I don’t want to give up foods I love during the summer.”
This photo was taken last weekend when I went out to eat with my father-in-law and Michael. Also as I type this, I gladly enjoyed some chips and ice cream tonight before bed. Whether it’s summertime or wintertime, you do not have to give up foods you love on this journey. I believe in moderation, not deprivation when it comes to food. Food creates lasting memories and shouldn’t rule over your mind constantly. This is what I am learning as I continue to strive for my #30daystobest . It might not be on the meal plan, but it doesn’t make me any less of a person or mom just bc I had some chips and ice cream before bed the first time the past couple of weeks..What foods do you just love and will never give up? ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Motherhood: the most beautiful messes 😊❤️.Like laundry all over the floor because he is just mimicking how you take the laundry out of the basket..Or spit up all over your new shirt, that missed the burp cloth, after babe had a good feed..Or toys, Tupperware, pots, & pans, all over after playing in a room..What beautiful messes do you have in your home? ⬇️
5 best tools/things I use on a daily basis:
1️⃣ Michael’s weighted straw cup. Michael can use this independently now. When we first started him on solids/purees at 6 months old we started introducing water at meals. I only give him about an inch full worth a day, which he doesn’t even drink it all (usually he spits it out once he gets it in his mouth 😂)2️⃣ I love our (newish) @ninjakitchen blender that has a smoothie setting and an individual cup attachment.3️⃣ I use our bow flex weights all of the time in my workout videos. They are chunky sometimes for some moves but overall love how easy it is to change my weights.4️⃣ Michael eats in his high chair for all three meals a day now (and sometimes for snacks or watches me cook in the kitchen) so I knew we had to get a nice chair and I LOVE our Jeep high chair for him.5️⃣ No picture for this but MOMMAS I am still using a boppy to breastfeed Michael so definitely invest in one of those if you plan to breastfeed!.I know these are random but of course it’s a mixture of things Michael uses too, duh..Mommas ⬇️ what tools and things are you […]
Play it safe
My whole life I played it safe, kept my head down, and kept quiet..When my therapist asked me last year what my worst injury was as a gymnast, I laughed and said “I broke my big toe and had to get pins put in it. I was always scared of getting hurt so I was always cautious.”.I’m also not one to voice my opinion. I often go with the flow or let someone else choose where we are going or what we are doing. I sit back and listen to conversations instead of trying to talk over others..Can you relate to me yet? 😂 If you can, I want you to know that there is nothing wrong with you. You might wish you could be more outspoken or not afraid of confrontation, but hey, it’s gotten you this far in life. We all have flaws. Sometimes our flaws become our strengths..For me, it helped me work my butt off in getting a full-ride gymnastics scholarship to college. It has helped me be an amazing mom..There is nothing wrong with you. The only difference between me and you is I just decided I wanted to inspire others who were like me […]
Arlene has been the best coach/mentor I could ask for! For almost a year I’ve learned so much from her in order to change my lifestyle and become a much healthier and happier person. She is SO inspirational and keeps me motivated to make the best decisions for me on even my craziest and most stressful days. I’m incredibly thankful to have her as a coach and friend along this journey!
Arlene is the most supportive and compassionate person that I know- which makes her an amazingly inspirational coach! She is not afraid to share and is always there to listen. Arlene not only helped me physically, but has been a support for me emotionally as well. I feel lucky to call her a friend.
Arlene is absolutely amazing. She is super supportive, so encouraging, and walks with you through your journey. Her positive attitude draws you in and makes you feel super comfortable. It’s been fun connecting with Arlene over the past year through health and fitness. We have known each other since… middle school I think? Arlene is a great support and accountability partner. She is willing to work with you on your specific goals and meet you where you’re at on your own fitness journey. The support of her group has helped me stick with my plans to achieve my goals!
I love Arlene and how incredibly supportive she is! I have been looking for some serious accountability for a while during my fitness journey, and it’s been so hard to find! But she reached out to me and has not given up on me (even when I’m seriously slacking). She always so good about reaching out to simply see how life is going. She interested in just more than tracking my workouts, she’s into the personal side as well!
